Theodor Clauss was a Butcher Master and Burger of Greiz, Germany.
One of his two sons, Fritz. was killed in action during the first World War. His other son, Theodor, took over the family's butcher business when Theodor Sr. died of a heart attack.
Frederick Wiegand, the grandson of Theodor and Marie Clauss, remembered from his visit there when he was seven that the shop had several apprentices.
